Never Trade Your Life for Material Possessions

Let’s start with a couple quick questions. How much does the latest iPhone cost? What about the price you paid for that piece of jewelry on your wrist or your finger? And how about the car you drive – how much did you pay for it? All of those answers could be in the range of hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Now here’s the last question – what’s the value of your life? Regardless of your response to the first three questions, the answer to that last question outweighs them all. You are infinitely more valuable than all the “things” you carry with you.

Whenever you find yourself in a situation where your material possessions are being demanded of you, never ever hesitate to give them up immediately. Commit to surrendering your items, but never surrender your life. Let the person have what they are demanding materially. Throw it on the ground and then put space between you and the assailant. Run as quickly as you can toward the nearest and largest group of people. Make every effort to save your life, even at the expense of all your “things”.
